Beautiful woman, ugly tricks.
Sophie Rain, an influencer with over 13 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, says undercover ladies are using her sexy photos to fish for penniless men.
“It bothers me a lot,” Rain, 20, told JamPress. “It really pisses me off because it’s not my fault that someone is using my photos to scam them.”
Rain, who earns nearly $650,000 a month on OnlyFans, confessed that men she’s never met before will contact those they thought were with her.
“I’ve had a lot of men text me saying something along the lines of, ‘Hey, we had plans to meet up and you canceled at the last minute.’ I just want to know why.”
Rain, feeling sorry for the ghost men, will answer them, breaking the news that they have been caught as catfish.
“I’ll give them some sympathy and sometimes they’re understanding and that’s it, but a lot of times they think I’m lying about it,” the influencer said. “I don’t message people on my unverified social media accounts.”
The Tampa, Florida resident is aware of multiple accounts of catfish using her photos and finds it disparaging.
“I find it incredibly creepy to see my body or face used by someone else,” she said. “People are impersonating me to fool naive men with no money.”
A con artist named Charlotte, who goes by the name @babycharlotte1, recently admitted online to using Rain’s persona to lure men.
“I borrowed your face and told a guy I looked like you, but it was my whole personality,” Charlotte said in the clip. “I just used your face and body.”
In the TikTok follow-up, the content creator called Charlotte “lame” and “severe” for manipulating people.
“To anyone about to hand over money to a hot stranger, beware – it could be a terrible catfish!” cried the rain.
Rain advises people to be aware of who they are messaging and the types of accounts they are contacting you with.
“Be more cautious and think ‘Hmmm this random Sophie Rain Telegram account messaged me and is asking for money to meet up,'” she shared.
Despite the red flags, many people still fall for scams and believe they are talking to the real Sophie, which can become a dangerous situation for the influencer.
“It gets to the point of harassment where I’ve had men follow me in my car begging for my number and stalking my social media,” she sighed.
Although Rain remains grateful for the luxuries that her beauty and influential career have afforded her, she admits that sometimes they can become overwhelming.
“I understand that internet fame comes with recognition, but I don’t think it warrants harassment or endangering my personal safety,” she confessed.
And while being beautiful helps pay her bills, it hasn’t helped her find the right man.
“It makes my dating life difficult because I know those men are just trying to date me for my body, not who I am as a person,” Rain said.
