Dior’s expensive new skincare line is packed with wine – and only 5 people can afford it

Dior’s new skin care line will make you age like fine wine.

The luxury house dropped its latest and most expensive skincare line: Dior L’Or de Vie, with products infused with wine.

And it turns out wine isn’t just for drinking — there are benefits to putting it on your face.

Unknown to some, wine byproducts have been used in the skin care industry for decades, whether they’re products like wine-powered masks and peels or entire lines like Caudalie’s Vinopur.

A study published in the journal Cosmetics by MDPI found that wine by-products such as grape pom extracts contain high bioactive molecules and polyphenol content, which have several health benefits for the skin, such as anti-aging, skin depigmentation and photo protection. .

Dior L’Or de Vie, “the most exclusive Dior skincare collection”, is formulated using by-products from Dior’s private Sauternes vineyard, Château d’Yquem.

The grapes in the vineyard benefit from a special type of fungus known as “noble rot”, which gives the wines their signature test and acts as a key ingredient in the skincare line, which was reformulated for the first time since since its creation in 2006.

The L’Or de Vie collection includes five products, including a serum ($1,700), eye and lip contour cream ($850), day cream ($1,700), night cream ($1,700) and lotion ($680). Prices start at $350 for a special white jade massage duo for antiaging skin care. The most expensive is the $3,200 L’Or de Vie Le Cérémonial Vintage 2023, a trio of products that offers an “intense one-month visible rejuvenation treatment.”

All products are anti-aging and reinvented with the luxury house’s “new longevity secret”: Life Protein, which the brand says was discovered in the heart of the vineyard and infused into formulas to “help restore structure of skin and youth.

Protein is naturally found in Yquem active ingredients, which allows the new formulas to be twice as concentrated.

Dior used “Golden Drop Longevity Technology” in the newly formulated products, combining two Yquem active ingredients: Golden Sap and Golden Ferment.

“After 30 years of research, Dior’s most exclusive line gives the skin the gift of longevity, helping to correct the signs of aging. A remarkable power is rooted in the search for reverse aging,” according to the company.

“Moving beyond simply correcting the signs of aging, L’Or de Vie appears to reverse the signs of aging and rejuvenate the skin. Refreshed and revitalized by the key ingredients of Golden Drop Longevity technology, the markers of skin youth return to the state of 25-year-old skin.”

The 2003 L’Or de Vie Le Ceremonial Vintage Package is a limited edition serum ritual that is released every year and costs $3,200. Dior

According to Elle, the technology promises immediate results after just one application, including a 30% increase in collagen production, as well as an increase in radiance, smoothness and firmness.

And if you’re looking for exclusivity with your luxury serum, the 2003 L’Or de Vie Le Ceremonial Vintage package is a limited-edition serum ritual released only each year.

The vintage pack is a one-month treatment that promises to “activate, rebuild and restore skin’s visible youth.”

The extra limited-edition L’Or de Vie La Creme jar is only available to five customers, Elle reported, at a price upon request only.

The rare jar is made of hand-blown Murano glass by French artist Aristide Najean.
