Flight attendant’s clever ‘condom’ hack saved my luggage: ‘This is genius’

Diapers and “condoms” – they are necessary things.

Two drugstore staples are being considered top necessities for air travelers hoping to avoid messy surprises and spills in their luggage.

“Pro tips on packing,” said Lauren, from content creator duo @JeffandLaurenShow, in a trending TikTok tutorial. “I learned this from a flight attendant.”

According to the popular post, which has racked up over 1.8 million views, the brunette shares some secrets for storing her skincare supplies while 30,000 feet in the sky, packing clothes into a suitcase to optimize space and using baby clothes to ensure that glass bottles of fine wine – known as precious cargo – make it from takeoff to landing without cracking.

“Tips and tricks for packing clothes, toiletries and more this holiday season,” Lauren captioned the clip. “Hacks to Stay Organized.”

And filling your diapers with alcohol will be key to keeping spirits bright in the coming months.

However, fail-proof packaging indicators are often useful for friendly sky-goers, regardless of the time of year.

Geneva Vanderzeil’s legendary 5-4-3-2-1 packing method has achieved viral acclaim among girls on the go who prefer flying light. Instead of overloading your bags with clothes, Vanderzeil suggests wearing just five tops, four bottoms, three pairs of shoes, two dresses and one set of accessories.

Fashion influencer Faith Woodhall also recently saved travelers the stress of hiding overstuffed bags through TSA checkpoints.

Instead of praying that their bags are not checked, Woodhall advised holidaymakers to put excess belongings in a plastic bag and pick up a shopping bag from a duty-free shop in the airport terminal.

“They’ll think you just bought stuff at the airport,” the UK reality star said of the fashion trend. “[It] it always works [like] a dream – I was never charged for a second bag.”

However, Lauren’s hacks don’t include pulling a fast one on airlines.

To keep expensive toiletries hidden on the road, the respiratory expert recommends taking a few balloons, sniping off the ends with scissors, and wrapping rubber bands around the top of each container. The elastic material is an impermeable cover that prevents splashing of precious grains and creams.

And while some tough-minded online critics called the cut-up balloons “skincare condoms”, others hailed Lauren’s hack as “genius”.

She also encourages jet-setters to keep their suitcases upright while packing. The know-it-alls showed how easy it is to put the good stuff in a bag when the clothes are piled up instead of piled up in the hand.

But Lauren’s most eye-catching tip is, indeed, her DIY diaper.

To travel with SUMMERthe crafty globetrotter says that tying a bottle to two diapers—one at its base and one at its neck—keeps the good stuff safe without incident.

However, social media naysayers struggle to see the upside of losing expensive baby bottoms.

“I checked the price of diapers and they are more expensive than the wine I drink,” noted one Debbie-downer.

“Use bubble wrap to wrap the glass… why waste diapers,” commented another, prompting one particular user to remember that pampers will soak up any liquid that leaks from the bottle.

But a cynical insider called to make sure the paltry reward wasn’t worth the risk.

“I work at an international airport,” the convicted thief wrote, “and I wouldn’t recommend having a bottle of anything in my bags, no matter how well you wrap it.”
